Kevin McNeal & I camped at Pyramid Lake in Jasper National Park the night before. We woke up at 5am, sped south to Athabasca Glacier, and shot sunrise there. It was freakin' cold here at sunrise, even in September. We left our cars running while we found good compositions, setup our shots, then ran back to the cars while we waited for the light to hit the mountains. We were drawn to these plants as their white color really popped on the landscape. It seemed to be an ideal time of year for these things. They appear to be a cousin of Dandelions of some sort. As a kid, I called Dandelions "Wish Blowies", because I would make a wish and then blow on them until all the little parts blew off and flew away, hence the name of this piece. This was one of my favorite shots from the trip. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. God bless!
