The Bend by StevenDavisPhoto The Bend by StevenDavisPhoto
This shot won a Daily Deviation on 1/28/11 ([link]), and Photo of the Day on 1/7/11 at OneDailyShot.com.
Thank you so much to those of you who support me and help get my name out there more!!!

Horseshoe Bend is just west of Page, AZ. It's a crazy spot where the Colorado River forms a horseshoe shape and makes this canyon before opening up into the Grand Canyon. My Induro tripod was about 8 inches from the edge. I rented a Canon 10-22 lens for my trip for this shot specifically and I'm glad I did. This shot requires a REALLY wide angle to get everything. I now own this lens, because it's awesome on a crop body like my Canon t2i. Enjoy :)

A mounted print of this shot can be purchased at my Etsy store for only $20 - [link]

Daily Deviation

Given 2011-01-28
^Lilyas said; "A beautiful and impressive artwork! The artist is quite unknown but surely deserves to get more attention on his work."

=Topicality said; "The Bend by =StevenDavisPhoto is really awesome. The blue pops against the red canyon: that plus the contours of the river, makes this a beautiful shot."

This is a great picture, and very similar to one by Peter Lik. When your pictures remind someone of his, you know you're good. ;)

Well, either way, he's got some pretty good shots in his gallery. But then again, you sure do too.

I'm going to have to think about that mounted print at Etsy. It sure seems worth a sawbuck to me!
One of my favorite places to visit is the Grand Canyon, and of course this photo captures this place perfectly.

Excellant image here, the colors are extreme, the clarity, color, and reflection of the water draw the attention so fast then the colors and texture of the canyon broaden the vision, for me anyway. Beautiful work.

that was taken with the canon 10-22. if u cant afford nice lenses, rent em :) that's what i do. lenses are the best bang for your buck. get nice ones. its mostly about knowing composition, knowing post-production, and getting lucky with the right light and weather.
